Easter 2009

Easter started for my boys Friday morning when we went to Walmart to get groceries. The Easter Bunny was there and they were giving away free pictures with him. That beats the $25 pictures they sell at the mall, so we decided to give it a shot. Just as Dalin suspected, both babies freaked out when they got close to the bunny. He was way too scary for them!! I did have Dalin take a picture of them screaming and clinging to me as proof that we tried. Maybe next year?
Dalin was quite the trooper and got his picture taken with the Big, Bad, Easter Bunny. Then, Saturday, it was off to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the traditional Easter egg hunt. We usually sleep in tents in the backyard and wake up to find eggs, but this year with Jessica being 8 1/2 months pregnant and all the rain, we opted for dinner instead. (Don't think this is the new tradition, guys!! Next year, we are back in the tents!) Dalin loves this part of Easter because Grandma's Easter Bunny gives the grandkids money. Not just any money, but $1 coins. Dalin looks forward to them every year! Then, as we went to bed Saturday night, Dalin told us that he wasn't sure that the Easter Bunny was real. Boy was he wrong! At 3 AM, our house alarm went off waking us all up. (Well, all of us except the babies who slept through the blaring alarm. Amazingly!) Couldn't figure out why, everything was fine and locked up tight. So, Dalin decided that it must have been the Easter Bunny. Alishia decided that it was good thing he had chocolate with him or we'd all have eaten "bunny" for breakfast.

Sure enough the next morning, the Easter Bunny had been by and the boys were so happy to see their baskets full of fun things and eggs hidden all over the house. Micah was glad the eggs had more M and Ms in them. He was all about the candy! And Matthew was excited about his new Shrek 2 movie and didn't care about any of the eggs. Dalin, of course, loved it all and helped the twins find all of their eggs, too. It was a wild morning at our house!

Then it was off to church to see what Easter was really about. While in nursery, Sis. Brooks, gave all the kids bunny ear headbands and goody bags. The twins were just adorable as we left the church!! It was the perfect end to the holiday! Thanks, Sarinah!!
