Visiting Kamber on Memorial Day

Today we celebrated Memorial Day. Each year, we go to the cemetary to put flowers on our families graves and clean them up as we remember what they were like and tell sweet stories about them. This year was real sad because it was the first time we went to put flowers on Kamber's headstone.
Aunt Julie brought a whole bunch of purple balloons because purple was Kamber's favorite color. It was a real tear jerker to see all of the purple balloons as we walked from gravesite to gravesite!!
Micah loved his balloon and let us tie it to his wrist so that it wouldn't float away.

Matthew refused to let us tie it to anything and screamed all through the cemetary. But I did get a cute picture before the temper tantrum started.
Many of us wore flip flops because Kamber loved flip flops. I even had to sew purple buttons on Dalin's flip flops because he wanted them to have her favorite color on them somewhere. He even colored a special picture for Kamber to leave on her headstone! This was his own idea and he was so happy to have something to leave for her.
He didn't go to Kamber's funeral, so this was kind of my chance to say good-bye. He stood and looked at the pictures on her head stome for a long time and cried.
He loved the words on the headstone, "Our Valiant Little Angel...We will be Together Forever"! This is a day that I don't think he will ever forget, none of us will!!
